Kimono Rental in Los Angeles

Interested in strolling around the streets of Los Angeles in a kimono? You don’t have to worry about not having your own kimono or not knowing how to wear one, as there is a kimono rental shop that is happy to offer a hassle- free kimono-wearing experience. You can also rent out yukata; casual summer cotton kimono that is lighter, thinner and easier to wear around. And if you like, you can purchase them afterwards.

I found and visited a kimono rental shop called Tokyo Kimono in Torrance, CA. Torrance is in Los Angeles County, about 15 to 20 miles south from downtown, and has the most Japanese population in the world outside of Japan. You can find literally anything Japanese there, so I knew there would be one. On my Shichigosan 753 blog (link below), I mentioned kimono shops and photo studios in Japan offer a package of kimono rental, dressing, hair and makeup, and photoshoot for children and adults (both men and women). Well, they offers the same as well as kimono dressing lessons by a licensed professional kimono dresser. You can either have the pictures taken in the studio, or go outside for a few hours in the kimono, dining out, or taking pictures at scenic view of ocean nearby with a perfect shot of yourself all ‘kimono’d up’. If you own a kimono, but don’t know how to wear it by yourself like me, then hire a professional kimono dresser to come to your home.
This is one way to spend time in Los Angeles.
